Victor Rios (b. July 17th, 1986)
Born 3rd child to Mexican parents that migrated to the United States from Guadalajara. Growing up my mother Luz was a chef with love in her hands, my father Victor sr. worked in automotive repairs & paint.
Since I was young I was drawn to drawing and working with my hands. As I learned, I started to appreciate design and craftsmanship, so much I fell in love with the screen printing process. I decided to study Graphic Design / Multi-Media in college near my hometown. While working in skate shops and clothing boutiques. I've always been in-captivated in the process of idea to reality.
In 2017 I started Soir, an atelier where I handcraft leather goods that are driven by simplicity and minimal design. I chose to work with leather because it's a luxurious material that if cared for can be a family heirloom.
